About

My name is Baramay Ung, a Cambodian-American photographer specializing in portraits, travel, and event photography.

In 2023, I was at a crossroads, and I asked God, “What should I do with my life?” The answer I received was to look into photography and focus my creative energy on others. Three years later, I found myself photographing choirs in the most beautiful and sacred churches throughout Spain with Music Celebrations.

In the meantime, I photographed dancers all over the country for Youth America Grand Prix with LK Studios, supported businesses and events, and photographed headshots throughout the Los Angeles area, as well as countless events and music performances for Los Angeles Pierce College.

My photography work explores how I show the beauty in others, how I capture life’s most memorable moments, and how I can contribute to stories of others. This led to my podcast — Unginspired — where I interview people about their story — their deepest truths, their humanity, and the nature of existence.

I hold an MFA from CalArts, and I’m based in Los Angeles.
